Innovation
Those are more than words to us; they are the core values that define who we are – how we care for residents, support team members and thrive in senior living.
With a rich tradition of serving seniors in Carroll and Howard Counties, Lutheran Social Ministries of Maryland’s communities offer residents an enriching environment focused on learning and wellness programs and the peace of mind of an accredited on-site health care center. Today, more than 900 seniors call our communities home.
Our continuing care retirement communities include Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, MD and the Lutheran Village at Miller’s Grant in Ellicott City, MD. Both are within commuting distance from the Baltimore and Washington, DC areas, Frederick County and south-central Pennsylvania.

Reasons to Join Our Team
1We’ll Help Your Career Dreams Become Reality.
Whether you’re looking to become a health care professional, extend your love of cooking into a successful career, are a teen who is looking for a great first job with flexible scheduling that offers a $4,000 scholarship, or are looking for your hard work, skills and talent to be rewarded in a mission driven organization founded on faith based goals, LSMMD can help you reach those career goals and more!
We offer scholarships of up to $6,000 per year for college, trades school, licenses and certifications. Over 200 team members have received scholarships totaling over $350,000, funded entirely by CLV and LVMG’s residents!
2You’ll Make a Real Difference Every Day.
Your work directly impacts our residents’ quality of life. Your interaction with them may be the highlight of their day and a source of comfort for their families. You may soon find that working with older adults becomes the highlight of your day as well and go home knowing you made a real difference in the lives of very special people.
3You’ll Thrive in Our Supportive and Rewarding Work Environment.
There is a reason so many team members make LSMMD their last career move. We are known as a friendly, supportive, workplace that sincerely cares about our team members, which will inspire you to perform at your best and continuously improve.
“Thanks to resident funded scholarships, I have been given many career and educational opportunities, including transitioning from culinary services to information technology while pursing a degree in IT.”
“Just knowing I’m making a difference in our residents daily lives – whether that be getting off of a medication or being able to travel with family because they’re in better shape from the programs I teach - really makes me look forward to coming in every day.”
Working at Lutheran Village at Miller's Grant has been a blessing. I especially enjoy working with residents and soon-to-be residents.
